About Our School
Graven Hill Primary School is located at the heart of the Graven Hill development. Our vision is for all of our children to achieve their personal best, through a challenging and inspiring curriculum. Our children learn through exploring the world around them; asking questions and solving problems. We provide our children with an extensive range of life experiences and opportunities for them to become confident and independent young people, who thrive on challenge, and are motivated to learn. In doing this, we equip them to be lifelong learners and empower them to achieve success well into the future.
We are part of the Warriner Multi Academy Trust family of schools. The Warriner MAT was set up in August 2015 with one secondary school (The Warriner), three primary schools (Bishop Carpenter, Hornton and Sibford Gower). A further two form entry primary school (Bishop Loveday) joined in June 2017 followed by a Northamptonshire primary school (Farthinghoe) in September 2018 and Finmere CofE Primary school in March 2020. We have extensive experience of nursery education and have recently opened a further nursery to support the community of Sibford Gower. Being part of the trust enables us to share the very best practice across all of our schools. Staff work together to support and learn from each other and this ensures that all of our children receive the very best care and education.
We have a proven track record of working effectively with all of our schools. This has been formally recognised by the Regional Schools Commissioner who has invited us to showcase our successes at his regional conferences and the DfE who included our MAT in their best practice document published in December 2016 in recognition of our support of smaller primary schools. The MAT leadership team have worked diligently to ensure the very highest standards are achieved by all our students. This relentless focus upon best practice in teaching and learning began well before the formal conversion date. As a result of this collaboration, all schools within the MAT continue to perform well above floor and coasting standards and one was placed in the top 1% of schools for its outcomes in 2016. Another of our primary schools was selected to take part in the parliamentary review of primary education in 2018 for outstanding practice. In 2020 one of our primary schools ranked within the top 10 in Oxfordshire.
The school is due to open in September 2023. When full it will have capacity for 420 primary places (Reception - Year 6) and 90 nursery places. In preparation for this opening, we have been recruiting top quality staff to support our children. At the heart of the Graven Hill team will be a number of extremely experienced staff from across our trust who will ensure that our children get the very best experiences from day 1.
For our children to thrive, we are committed to their wellbeing, achieving high standards and providing the very best for all in our care, whatever their needs. Staff, supported by governors, ensure that all of our children acquire the skills and enthusiasm to embrace the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. We provide the environment where mutual respect flourishes and young people grow in understanding, acceptance of and sensitivity to the needs of all others.
We believe that for our children to really flourish we need to work in partnership with their parents and families. Schools thrive on relationships so in the build up to opening, we will make sure that there are plenty of opportunities for us to get to know you and your children.
